    • Agricultural Land: 15 Bigha or more in rural areas.
    • Residential Land: 1 Bigha or more in rural areas.
    • Urban Land: 1.5 Katha or more in municipal or town areas.
    • Built-Up House: More than 1000 sq. ft. in municipal or town areas.
  3. Definition of 'Family': For the purposes of EWS determination, the term "family" includes:

    • The applicant.
    • Parents and siblings under 18 years of age.
    • Spouse and children under 18 years of age.

Issuing and Verifying Authority

The EWS certificate must be issued by the Circle Officer or Circle Officer (A) of the Revenue circle where the applicant or their family resides. The certifying officer is responsible for verifying all relevant documents and following the prescribed process.

Authorized Authorities to Issue EWS Certificate:

  • District Magistrate, Deputy Commissioner, or Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
  • Chief Presidency Magistrate and other Presidency Magistrates.
  • Revenue Officers not below the rank of Tehsildar.
  • Sub-Divisional Officer or a relevant authority in the area where the applicant resides.

To apply for an Income and Asset Certificate, the following documents must be submitted:

  • Land Revenue Receipt (if the applicant is a farmer).
  • Additional Documents (Voter list, Gaon Burah Certificate, Land Revenue Payment Receipt, etc.)

  2. Visit the Circle Officer’s Office: Go to the office of the Circle Officer (A) or the relevant authority in your area.

Important Points Regarding EWS Category Appointments

  • If there are unfilled posts reserved for EWS candidates, they may be filled by candidates from the unreserved category.
  • EWS candidates selected under the benchmark disabilities or ex-servicemen category will be placed against the roster points designated for EWS.
  • Candidates belonging to the EWS category can still compete for unreserved vacancies. If selected based on merit (and not reservation), they will not count toward the EWS quota.
